Around Agonda and Chaudi.

It has been SO hot and humid.  Even the Agondans are saying that it's just too hot - and these are folks who are here for the summer and monsoon!  The best thing to do is either to hang out at an air-con internet place or to just take a cold shower and then lie under a fast running fan.  It's been quite hot since we arrived, but we've had a few days where the sea-breezes have given us a nice break.  The other real relief is to get on a scooter and take off down a road at a good clip - fabulous (except when I stop to take some pics, then the warm wall hits).  Not that I'm complaining or anything...  It did finally sprinkle a bit tonight.  Made a great pot of veg soup tonight for dinner (using some vegies & leftover dal & stuff from the other night), and when I came out to do this post my scooter was wet - a short rain has freshened things up.  I figure the approaching rain is what got the local bats - HUGE ones that live in trees just on the north end of the village - flying around in droves just before sunset.

A dog in Agonda trying to cool down by hanging around in piles of dirt.

Cows partying down in the dirt.

Cow at the beach.

Snoozing.

Cows in front of our place in the morning.

Anne with one of her favorites.

Baby in the herd.

A couple of cows providing a bit of an obstacle right at the only entrance/exit to the Chaudi 'Supermarket'.

Four bums just standing around taking up one whole lane in the middle of Chaudi.

Dogs snoozing on the beach.

Anne & Bingo on the beach (Bingo doing some serenading).

Dave & friend Bingo at the house.

Bingo on the beach at Agonda.  Poor guy is so beat up (fights with dogs, legs broken, poisened, etc) but just is as loving and friendly as could be.

Beach dog.  Far too many, which seemed to get 'culled' once a yea.r

Crow at the beach.

The very rare Sandpiper alone on the beach.  They usually run around in their hyper way in groups, back & forth with the waves.

Seagulls hanging around on the beach.

A distant shot of a hawk near a Hindu temple in Upper Agonda.
