In Gokharna - Meeting Paul

Walter and I made our way from Agonda to Gokharna, Karnataka.  While in Gokharna, I was fortunate to meet a friend of Walter's, Klaus, who in turn introduced me to a long-time friend of his, Paul.  Paul has been living and travelling in India for many years, and is, without question, following the Sadhu life.  He is a man of knowledge and depth, great and infectious humour, and knows the words to more old songs than anyone I know.  It was a real privilege, and a lot of fun, to meet him.

So...off to Kudle Beach, near Gokharna....

For those who want to be entertained, I've created a video out of the still images, and uploaded them to YouTube (should be viewed in 480px rather than 360px).

Unfortunately, like every Indian beach I've visited in the last few years, the beauty has a real dark side.

A beach for everyone.

A walk behind the beach.

Houses for rent.

Following the path.
Some distractions.

The remains of the house of Mali, an old friend of Klaus and Paul's.
