Panoramas!

I have set up a separate site for panorama images I've created out of some picture series I took during the 2009-2010 India trip.  It turns out that Google Blogger has placed a 1600 pixel width maximum on any picture I put on the site, so see how they look (even though I upload all with a max height of 800 pixels).  I'll also be adding to the images as time goes on.

Afterwords.....continuing

Folks,
Well, I'm now back home in Victoria and though quite happy to be back....damn it's cold! Admittedly, not the cold of Nunavut, Germany or even western Massachusetts, but near-the-ocean-windy-rainy-cold. And I do so miss the friends I've made on this trip, but so happy to have my family and old (sorry) friends around me.
I will finish publishing on this blog a variety pictures from this trip, including some places I visited early on but didn't publish any pics about (Hampi and Ellora & Ajanta), and some more pics of the places I've already inundated you with pictures of.  I may even get around to writing/ranting something about the places I've been.  I will get these done up as soon as I can fit the stuff into my busy schedule.
Still, a big thanks to all who have dropped in on this blog.  It's been a real pleasure (well, sometimes a bit of a pain given internet speeds) to select the odd pic to display a bit of what this trip was like and the places I moved through.  Hopefully you check back for the new stuff to come.
It was fun.   But.....I'll be back.......

A few of the birds around Pichola Lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Now that I'm back in Agonda Beach in Goa (a great way to 'bookend' this trip) staying at the 'Monsoon', I'll finally get to put up some pics of the daily views I had in Rajasthan.  As my guest house in Udaipur - the Lal Ghat Guest House - was right on the Pichola shore, it was a pretty easy and comfortable spot to watch the birds that resided around the lake.  Everyone who stayed at the Lal Ghat would, at some point, sit on the rooftop or in the old verandah in the guest house and stare for hours at the wonderful view. The veranda was an especially tempting spot to sit and read and eat your meals in all day.  In the evening the mosquitoes came out, but the views and sounds at night were just wonderful.

Terns.  All day they sweep back and forth along the lake shore, in front of the Lal Ghat Guest House, which makes for easy  viewing.

I know these aren't birds, but what the heck, they hang around
on the shore in the same area as the birds.

Girls Working in Udaipur

I was down on the Pichola Lake shoreline, in front of the Lal Ghat Guest House I stay at, taking pictures of birds when these girls showed up from around the corner.  I waved my camera at them to see if they minded my taking pictures and they waved ok back.  The four of them were collecting bottles thrown away along the shore, and continued doing so until they ran up and asked for 'one photo' of the group.  As soon as I snapped the pics, they checked them out, had some big giggles, then ran off again, without a look backwards, towards the ghat where they came from.
